About PyLadies Chicago

PyLadies is a mentorship group for women with a focus on helping more women become active participants and leaders in the Python open source community. The Chicago chapter is one of many groups all over the world, and encourages women to start their own local groups.  We support both seasoned and budding developers through workshops, community activities, local advocacy, and supporting PyLadies members to attend Python conferences.

The Chicago chapter wishes to extend a heartfelt thank-you to Chicago Pythonista Tanya Schlusser, who passed away in August 2019. A relentless advocate for promoting diversity and inclusion in Python, Tanya was one of PyLadies Chicago's first volunteers, donating countless hours to helping mentor and teach classes through our community as well as mentoring students in the Chicago Python User Group mentorship program. Tanya's dedication to education and empowerment of those underrepresented in Python is but one of the many ways Tanya served the Python community.
